KSU PROGRAMMING CONTEST

Who can compete?

Anyone with programming or math background is welcome to join or start a team and compete. This includes Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems majors, and others. We encourage anyone from Freshmen to Seniors and Graduate Students to compete!

Date: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 10am-5:30pm
Entry Fee: There is none! All contestants may enter free of charge. This contest is supported entirely by our sponsors!

Schedule:
  • 10am-12pm: Computer Setup, Test Problem Submission. Lunch at 11am.
  • 12-5pm: Contest
  • 5-5:30pm: Prizes


Teams: Up to three person teams. Teams of one and two persons are also okay.

Problems: 8-10 programming and math oriented problems varying in difficulty. Check out http://icpcres.ecs.baylor.edu/onlinejudge for practice problems.

Programming Languages: Java and C/C++

Prizes: Ipod Nanos, Bose Headphones, Gift Certificates. Lots of free giveaways and participatory prizes for all contestants!

What you can NOT use:
  • calculators
  • the internet
  • digital media other than the APIs
  • digital source code
  • phones, PDAs, or any other communication device
What you can (and should) bring/use:
  • Java API, C/C++ API and STL
  • Books (math, algorithms, or programming textbooks, C++ for Dummies, whatever you think might be useful)
  • Print-outs (you may print any material such as source code and reference documents to use during the contest)
  • pencil and paper
The day of the competition:
  • Arrive at Nichols 122 at 10am to get signed in for the contest.
  • Lunch will be provided at 11am (We'll have a ton of pizza, and soda)
  • Plan to stay till 5:30 or so for the free giveaways and prizes.
  • Softek and Cerner representatives will be available during the competition if you have any questions about their company or perhaps want to hand them your resume. They are providing all the money for the prizes and food and helping with judging the contest, so we are very grateful to have them!
